The summer menu at La Table

Tomatoes, apricots, courgette flowers and lamb from the Alpilles. What our kitchen is cooking this season, and why.

A crate of ripe apricots from the Durance valley

Our menu is short and changes most days, because it follows the market rather than a plan. But every summer has a shape, and this one belongs to tomatoes and apricots.

On the menu this season

  • Heirloom tomatoes from a grower in Coustellet, with olive oil from Oppède and nothing else.
  • Stuffed courgette flowers, picked that morning from our own kitchen garden.
  • Rack of lamb from the Alpilles, cooked over vine cuttings.
  • Roasted apricots with lavender honey and a scoop of almond ice cream.

The wine

The cellar leans heavily on the valley: pale rosés for lunch, and in the evening the structured reds from the slopes above Apt. Ask for a glass of whatever the sommelier is drinking; it is usually the most interesting thing on the list.

Lunch is served under the plane trees from 12:30. Reserve a table, especially in July and August. Non-residents are always welcome.
